Matthew last visited in 2009, and when KeyNote took over the Concerts at Emneth in winter 2010 we were delighted to see he had already been engaged to return for the 2011 Christmas show.

Matthew is an extremely busy musician traveling the UK with his shows as a solo artiste, an accompanist, big band pianist and a peripatetic music teacher.

Opening the  second half with his Accordion strapped to his chest, Matthew turned another musical corner giving us a more cabaret style performance.

Taking time to prepare his own screen material, Matthew provided us with some great graphics for both a very funny version of the Twelve Days of Christmas with lots of energetic audience participation, and a hearty Christmas sing-a-long.

After shouts for more and spectacular encore of the Bugle Call Rag with hands and feet flying in all directions, we eventually let Matthew finish at 5.15.

A true musician and entertainer we hope Matthew will be with us again before too long. A great show and a great way to start the build up to Christmas, the audience left with beaming smiles and wonderful comments.

Thank you Matthew for a wonderful afternoon of pure entertainment

MATTHEW BASON

From the outset of the afternoon it was clear we were in for a musical treat. These consisted of his YAMAHA EL-90 organ, Casio Privia Piano and a Piano Accordion.

The first half was in standard concert style with Matthewhe stage was packed with Matthew’s instruments which were all to be featured during his show. T featuring items on both Organ & Piano including a selection from Oklahoma in which Matthew gave us a treat using  his vocal skills. This was backed by cleverly prepared tracks automatically played on the Yamaha EL. Then, a fabulous arrangement of some Gershwin played in a host of different styles leaving us in no doubt of Matthew’s musicianship. These items  all interspersed with wonderful wit in his introductions.
