This was Ian’s first visit to KeyNote and indeed to the area. He hails from Sth Wales and is a full-time pro musician working in many fields of the business including Concerts, Cabaret and with a Band. From our point of view he’s known as a solo artiste but he’s often found on stage at larger events with his longstanding duo partner and buddy Richard Bower, together known as KeyKlix.

It was specially organised for Ian to come to us on this particular date as he was on route to the Keyboard Cavalcade festival over on the East coast at Pakefield. Sth Wales isn’t the best place to start from if you need to be in Emneth on a Sunday afternoon, so we were lucky to be able to schedule it with Ian with a stop in Northampton the night before.

Ian is renowned for his use over many years of a multi-keyboard setup. He uses keyboards not commonly seen on the Concert stage from Italian manufacturer Ketron (Solton) and he compliments them with a Roland pedalboard. This system was all fed through a state-of-the-art Bose speaker system which filled the Central Hall in warm and rich sound.

“A WELSH KEYBOARD WIZARD”

A master of orchestral and traditional electronic styles, Ian took us on a musical roller-coaster ride which saw thrills, tender moments, breathtaking sounds,  fast and furious twists and gentle curves.  A truly fabulous afternoon of music played by a really definitive “keyboard-artiste”.

The audience loved his laid back style a few little anecdotes and we are sure Ian will be back with us at Emneth in the future.

A CLASS ACT AND A TRUE PRO!

Because of the Keyboard Cavalcade festival which started the following day our numbers were a little lower tha usually but still very healthy and those in attendance were treated to a real concert platform performance from Ian.
